FINAL DEADLINE: SUNDAY AUGUST 2ND!
The Japantown Community Benefit District (JCBD) was able to reach it’s fundraising goal of $500,000.00 on the GoFundMe campaign in less than a month! Funds raised will go towards PPE supplies such as sneeze guards, face shields, etc. and to support our small business in these areas:
Employee wages
Assistance with rent and referral to services (i.e. loan application assistance, grant programs, etc.)
Purchase of PPE and supplies for small businesses to ensure required social distancing protocols
ELIGIBILITY
The following criteria applies to prospective applicants:
Must be a for-profit business located in San Francisco Japantown (Sutter and Geary from Laguna to Fillmore, Buchanan Mall, and Buchanan St. within the JCBD boundaries).
Business must be engaged in activities that are regulated by the City and County of San Francisco and have a current SF business license or permit.
Business must adhere to the City and County of San Francisco’s Public Health Order, Shelter in Place, and social distancing recommendations
Businesses must have experienced at least a 25% decrease in revenue as a result of COVID-19 due to closure or reduced operations demonstrated through Profit/Loss Reports.
Business must agree to describe plans for reopening.
The grant request limit is $5000. Please do not submit an application requesting more than $5000.
At this time, the JCBD is limiting applicants to for-profit small businesses based in San Francisco Japantown. Funds must be used in support of payroll and operating costs for the business named in the application.
JCBD Board members who have business interests and who may be applying for the Fund will not serve on any committees reviewing applications or disbursing awards.

Thank you for completing the Heart of Jtown Resiliency Fund grant application! JCBD requires a final report explaining how you used your grant funds. We will contact you directly to let you know when the final report is due (this date is based on the date the grant is awarded). Please be sure to keep records showing how the funds were used to include in this report.
